Testosterone Replacement Levels

I am a 40 year old white male with testosterone replacement issues. I was diagnosed with low testosterone after going to the urologist for testicular pain. My T count was 176 so he put me on 5g of Androgel per day.
After two months of treatment, my T count was tested and this time it was at 136. So, I was put on the patch and once again I was tested two months later.
This time my T count was down to 89! Now, they have me on 5g of Androgel twice a day. Is this really going to fix my problem or should we be looking more towards injections?
Nolan,
What you're experiencing is common with transdermal testosterone replacement therapies like Androgel and the patch.
Some people absorb testosterone poorly through their skin. It can even result in lower levels than what they started with due to the negative feedback loop kicking in after being exposed to an outside source of testosterone.
For people that react poorly to transdermals, testosterone injections are the way to go. It's the preferred testosterone replacement treatment.
Although more invasive than the creams and gels, injections have a much higher success rate. Getting to the high/normal range of testosterone shouldn't be a problem when taking 100mg per week.
Good luck, and let me know how the injections work out for you. It should make a big difference in how you feel.
