The side effects of antidepressants can vary depending on their class and dosage.

Here's a list of the most common serotonin increasing antidepressant side effects.

Most Common with SSRI's, Tricyclic's, and MAOi's

- Agitation.
- Anxiety.
- Constipation.
- Diarrhea.
- Dry mouth.
- Fatigue.
- Headache.
- Insomnia.
- Nausea.
- Sexual dysfunction (loss of libido, anorgasmia (can't come)).
- Sleepiness.
- Sweating.
- Weight gain.

Not so Common Side Effects

- Acne.
- Alcoholism.
- Anger/Rage.
- Apathy.
- Decreased ability to taste food.
- Flu-like symptoms.
- Lethargy.
- Loss of motivation.
- Rash.
- Tremor.
- Withdrawal/Discontinuation Syndrome (agitation, anxiety, agitation, dizziness, electric shocks, headache, insomnia, irritability, nausea).

Rare Antidepressant Side Effects

- Amnesia.
- Anti-social behaviour.
- Bleeding gums.
- Complete loss of taste.
- Excessive hair growth.
- Lactation (yes, for men too).
